Wintergear has "first real business" year

release The Kennel, 3 hoop, Gore-Tex, 1 person tunnel tent

release Gore-tex salopettes and overmitts

1982

release The Eyrie - 2 kg Gore=Tex dome tent, with pole supported front vestibule

release Hooped Bivi - Gore-Tex bivvy bag with front arch support

release The Emerald 3 pole geodesic dome, with front vestibule

introduce taped seams for Gore-tex tents, and for PU coated tent flysheets

Wintergear develops a business partnership with Wild Country (of 'Friends' camming device fame)

1983

release the Sapphire, the first elongated 'dunnel' (dome tunnel) geodesic tent, later to be renamed the Quasar

release the Super Diamond, four season geodesic dome tent with dual vestibules, including arch supported front vestibule

1984

Wintergear bought by Wild Country

1993

Wild Country sells its tent business to the newly formed Terra Nova company.
