1977

Wayne Gregory starts Gregory Mountain Products in San Diego, California, to focus on internal frame packs

early 1980's

Wayne Gregory with friend & business partner, Steve Noall develop three tent styles

Equinox & Solitary Base Tents had smooth coated side facing outwards and woven fabric 'face' inside

(this fabric inversion became a key selling point on Chouinard's Comet tent of 1987)

1983

Gregory Mountain Products sold to Bianchi International (a gun holster company), and moves to Temecula, California.

(Wayne stays on as a vice-president at Bianchi and continues to lead product design)

????

about this time, Steve Noall takes the previous Gregory tent business under his wing as a separate business: Noall Mountaineering

Noall Mountaineering operated out of both Mountain Center and Palm Springs California. Steve runs the business from his home.

The tents were made in the USA, with American fabrics being individually hot-cut, instead of the usual batch sawing

Designs were flysheet-pitch-first models, inspired by Australian tarp and insect tent combos

Models included the: Trekker, Equinox, Solitary Base, Serenity Base, Mountaineer II, Harmony Solo, Harmony 4-season

as well as the Tranquility Duo, Tranquility 4-season, Tahquitz 3-season, and Tahquitz 4-season

2000

the Noall Mountaineering website goes offline sometime after 2000.
