Hamish Hamilton, designer of the famed Vango Force Ten tents, develops rainwear without coating or membrane

Tightly woven Pertex nylon with capillary action acts as windproof shell over a moisture directional fibre pile lining

There were three main streams of development

1. a travellers towel - thin woven fabric that dried quickly, worked by drawing water off skin via the capillary action

2. sleeping bag, using the Double P system: Pertex & Pile

3. rainwear, using the Double P system: Pertex & Pile
